The Jalopy Project - Land Cruiser 80 Series Transformation

In Kenyan slang, a “Jalopy” is an old, worn-out car - tired, forgotten, and written off.
At Precision Automotive, we believe some legends are too important to be abandoned.

This is the story of The Jalopy - a fully transformed 80 Series Toyota Land Cruiser, built through a powerful collaboration between Precision Automotive and 4Real.

From worn-out to warrior.
From yesterday to tomorrow.
From 1976 to 2025.

Major Transformations Underway

This is not a cosmetic refresh. This is a full resurrection:

Brand New Engine Installed

The heart of the Jalopy has been completely replaced with a new engine build, restoring its power, torque, and reliability for real-world terrain.

Full Facelift: 1976 - 2025

The exterior has undergone a dramatic transformation with:

• New headlights
• New hood
• New sideskirts
• New front & rear bumper
• New front grille

A true half-century leap in design!

All-New Interior Upholstery
The interior is being completely stripped and rebuilt with modern finishing while retaining rugged Land Cruiser character

Modern Infotainment System
To match the modern feel, a fully updated infotainment system is being integrated for navigation, media, and connectivity.

New All-Terrain Tyres
Built for real roads and real trails, the Jalopy now rolls on brand new all-terrain tyres, ready for adventure.

Sunroof Installation (Factory Didn’t Include One)
This Land Cruiser never had a sunroof - until now. A custom sunroof installation is being added for a premium open-air driving experience.

The Wildest Test Drive You’ve Ever Seen!

Before the interior was even finished…
Before the seats were installed…

The Land Cruiser was taken on a real-world test run towards the Mt. Kenya region - with the shell only.

• No seats.
• No comfort.
• Just raw mechanical testing at its purest level.

This is how real builds are proven.

Currently in the Paint Stage

The Jalopy is now undergoing:

• Primer application
• Undercoating
• Full surface preparation for final paint

And just like our BMW project…
The final paint colour will be a surprise reveal.
